Fire-Themed Nails (Very Easy)
Hello everyone! I'm going to make a fire-themed makeup tutorial on YouTube soon, and I created a very simple nail art with it, and decided to put a tutorial for that on here instead!
Materials
- Black nail polish
- Orange nail polish
- Red nail polish
- Base coat
- Top coat
- Makeup sponge
- Makeup pads
- Nail polish remover
Steps

160- Cherry Red |
- Remove any nail polish that was previously on your nails.
- Paint your nails with your base coat. I'm using Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat.
- Once your base coat is dry to the touch, paint it two coats of the orange nail polish to make it opaque. I'm using Sinful Colors Professional in 53- Summer Peach.
- Once the orange nail polish is dry to the touch, take your makeup sponge and paint the top with red nail polish. Then, blot the sponge onto 2/3 of your nails closest to the tip. I did this twice to make it opaque. I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails X-treme Wear in 160- Cherry Red.
- Once the red nail polish is dry to the touch, either a) cut the top of your sponge off, or b) get a new sponge. Paint the top of that one with the black nail polish and do the same technique as step 4, except paint 1/3 of your nail closest to the tip. I did this once on most of nails to give it an ashy and more fiery look, but on some the red was showing through too much so I touched it up. I used Sinful Colors Professional in 103- Black on Black.
- Once the black nail polish is dry to the touch, paint one coat of your top coat over the design. I'm using the base coat, but it's a base and top coat, so don't fret.
- Your nails are probably going to look a bit dingy around them by now, so use some nail polish remover and clean up around the edges.
